How Online Renting Works
List Your Items
List textbooks and books on the marketplace to rent. You may automate your inventory via FTP or API.
You may upload a full or partial inventory file. A full inventory file consists of all items you are currently listing. A partial inventory file consists of the items you would like to add, modify or delete.
To Upload your inventory file, log-in to your seller account and click Upload Inventory. Browse your computer for the file you would like to upload. Select if your upload is a full or partial inventory file. Then, click the "Upload File" button. Once your file is uploaded you should receive an email containing the results of your upload.

Once your items are listed, customers can rent your items at ValoreBooks.com.
Renting Your Items
ValoreBooks.com is an online marketplace where multiple sellers and rental providers are listed on a product page side by side. Customers select the listing they would like to rent based on price, comments, feedback score and seller location. For many customers, the lowest price wins, but the other criteria also plays a very important role in their decision making process.
Ship Your Items
Confirm your order and ship your items to the renter. ValoreBooks.com will notify you via email when you item has sold. You must confirm orders within 48 business hours (excluding weekends and holidays) or they will automatically be cancelled.
Item Rented Notification
You will be notified via email when your item has been rented. The email will contain details of the item sold and where it shall be shipped.
We are currently only offering order fulfillment via FTP or API automation. To fill orders, you must log in to FTP account and pull back your order file. See complete documentation here.

Orders must be confirmed within 48 business hours (excluding weekends and holidays) or they will automatically be cancelled. Buyers will be sent a "Your item has been shipped" email 1 business day after the order has been confirmed. See complete documentation here.
Package your items tightly in a box or padded envelope and affix a shipping label to the front of the package. Take the package to your local post office. Orders must be shipped within 1 business day of order confirmation.
Payments are collected on your behalf by ValoreBooks.com. Rental payments are issued two times per month.
As you confirm orders, ValoreBooks.com processes customer payments on your behalf. ValoreBooks.com gives you the item price (minus a commission) and a reimbursement to cover your shipping costs.
Renter payments close on the 15th and last day of each month and are issued within 10 business days via check in the mail.
Your Book Is Returned
We notify the customer when to return your book and provide them with one of your prepaid shipping labels.
Prepaid Shipping Label
Provide ValoreBooks.com with a prepaid shipping label that customers can use to return their books.
ValoreBooks.com will automatically notify the customer when to return their books and how to access the prepaid shipping label so your books return to your warehouse on time.
If your book is retuned late the customer will be billed a 15 day extension at double the daily rate of your semester rental price.
Items Not Returned
If your book is not returned the customer will be billed at 15 day increments at double the daily rate of your semester price. The billing will continue until the book is returned or the list price of the book is collected.
Rental Marketplace Pricing
ValoreBooks.com offers one simple pricing plan. We ONLY charge a commission fee when your items are rented. We do not charge any monthly, listing or closing fees. It's that simple. Rental providers will also receive a shipping credit per item sold based on the method of shipping. The shipping credit amounts per product cateogory are listed in the chart below.

What additional fields do I need to add into my inventory files to list rentals?
Only Two fields, a 90 day rental price and a 120 day rental price.
How do customers return the books?
You provide us with a prepaid shipping label to give to the customer to use when their rental period is over.
How are customers notified when to return books?
We send email notifications 14, 7 and 1 day before the item needs to be sent back.
When do rental providers get paid?
Rental providers are paid every two weeks.
What is the commission rate for rentals?
ValoreBooks.com collects 20%.
How much does ValoreBooks.com bill a customer for a late item?
If an item is late, ValoreBooks.com will automatically bill the customer a 15 day extension fee at double the daily rate of the semester rental price. The customer will be billed at 15 day increments at the same rate until the book is returned or the total list price has been captured.
What is the commission rate for late items?
ValoreBooks.com collects 20% of the customer late fees.
What happens if the item is not returned and ValoreBooks.com is unable to bill the customers credit card?
ValoreBooks.com has a rental collections program where a collections representative will call the customer and walk them though the process to return the item. This program allows us to keep non returns well below the industry average.
