Willmott is a widely published military historian and former Senior Lecturer in the Department of War Studies at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, England, and has also taught at several American institutions. His many books include The Great Crusade: A New Complete History of the Second World War, When Men Lost Faith in Reason: Reflections on War and Society in the Twentieth Century, and DK's World War I (2003). Robin Cross is an author and journalist who has written extensively on World War II. His previous books include The Bombers and Citadel: The Battle of Kursk, republished in 2002 in the Penguin Classic Military History series. He has also written for the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Express, and has written many scripts for television. Charles Messenger served as an officer in the Royal Tank Regiment before becoming a military historian and defense analyst. His many books include The Second World War in the West, History of the British Army, and The Century of Warfare: The Worldwide Story of 100 Years of Conflict.
