Tale of the Great Fruit Tree

Life is wonderful for the Great Fruit Tree & his wife "Soil" & the Little Fruit Trees until one day deep in the forest, the old Briar Tree gets involved. The Briar Tree convinces the Great Fruit Tree that his growth on to their side of the meadow will not have any influence on the Great Fruit Tree or his family. The "Soil" objects to the Briar Tree's interference & an argument develops between the Great Fruit Tree & "Soil". The Great Fruit Tree becomes so angered over "Soil's" insistence that the Briar Tree is only out to destroy them that he uproots himself & leaves the "Soil" & his little Fruit Trees. As badly as the Great Fruit Tree desires to go back to his side of the meadow, his pride will not allow him to, & "Soil" was right. It becomes apparent that the Briar Tree was out to destroy him. By the time that the Great Fruit Tree realizes what has happened to him, he doesn't have the strength to go back on his own.
