SUMMARY

Shiloh is big, blonde and beautiful. She is also a Golden Retriever-She lives a happy life with her human companion and two other dogs. Her life is good -uncomplicated. Suddenly, her life is turned upside down -when she meets a male Golden named Buffet. With the help of modern day medicine, courting and artificial insemination take place within minutes. All of this is very new to Shiloh, though not totally unpleasant. As experienced by many of today's women, the male of the species quickly becomes interested in another and Shiloh experiences love and rejection. She also begins to experience other things. Her mood becomes erratic. She is putting on more and more weight. Her figure is changing. In spite of these perceived negative changes, Shiloh is experiencing some new positive experiences. Parties, complete with gifts, are given in her honor. Daily walks are now incorporated into her routine. She has many visitors and a great deal of attention. Then the unexpected - Shiloh somehow produces a guinea pig. A very small, pink, squinty eyed guinea pig. Shiloh is totally unprepared for this little creature and goes through days of highs and lows, love and annoyance, and anxiety and happiness. Soon Shiloh begins to realize that this little piglet is hers. The maternal instincts are slow to develop, but eventually "Meg" wins over Shiloh' s heart. Meg's daily changes are a source of pride and amazement for Shiloh and Shiloh's human companion. Shiloh delights in training Meg and teaching her both good and bad habits. Meg has her own personality and quickly learns to rule the house. Eventually, all children leave the nest. Meg docs this in her 8th week of life when she goes to live with anotherfamily. More confusion, heartbreak and separation anxiety plague the entire household. Shiloh, the eternal optimist decides that she wants to do this one more time - and this time hopes for twins.Imeson-Ernst, Marilyn is the author of 'Shiloh Bones Diary: Memoirs of a Bitch in Heat' with ISBN 9781418416416 and ISBN 141841641X.
