Readers Theatre: Performing the Text

Exercises for teachers to use in primary school classrooms to develop language skills through a method described as readers' theatre. It includes shared reading, improvising on a favourite story, performing a text and creating scripts. Presents and discusses many practical examples of how teachers can develop and adapt stories for performance. Also providing complete scripts and a discussion of particular books that work well for performance, a bibliography of further books and stories that can be successfully adapted for the purpose is provided.
