It had fairly detailed illustrations and good background information about many topics in the field, looks very sleek and modern

I learned the basics of Materials Science and Engineering, and about its many ties to the subjects of calculus and chemistry

The problems at the end of the chapters were good for learning, however I didn't feel like the sample problems were laid out in a manner to give a good example of the problems that were to come at the end of the chapters.

The primary subject of this book is provide an overview of different aspects of material science and engineering. It primarily focuses on the various materials intricate properties and prioitizes knowledge in structure (both macro and micro), and concrete and steel properties.

The book oversimplified or required heavy knowledge of other concepts to fully grasp. References to other textbooks I had concerning basic subject matter were essential to fully grasp what was presented in this book

It provides plenty of background and real world applications.Very interesting and thoughtful deposition of the content discussed.
