Listening to Crickets is the story of a grandfather telling his grandson about his life as a sharecropper in Mississippi and his escape from sharecropping to a better way of life. In the process of telling this story the grandfather imparts lessons about life, love, faith, hope, angels and God. It is based on a true story as told to me by my mother. The names of all family members involved are true.
