Elda Buonanno, adjunct instructor of Italian at Columbia University, is a native of Caserta, Italy (near Naples). She taught at the University of Naples and other institutions in Italy before moving to the United States in 2001 to pursue a Ph.D in Comparative Literature with a specialization in Italian at the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY).
