Converting LDC Opportunities into Business : A Strategic Response

This publication is largely based on research and discussion papers prepared for the Business Sector Round Table meeting held during the third UN Conference on Least Developed Countries (LDCs) held in May 2001. The report examines the opportunities for LDCs in current markets. It draws lessons from successful entrepreneurs in LDCs and describes a framework for turning opportunities into effective business. It reviews the possibilities in thirteen trade sectors of major potential for LDCs, and considers the measures that can facilitate an enabling environment for business and investment.
