Childcare Answer Book

Linda H. Connell received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and her law degree from Notre Dame Law School. After law school, she practiced municipal law for several years before deciding that she preferred legal writing and research to litigation. She joined the editorial staff of a publisher of legal study materials, and worked there until shortly after she started her family, when she decided to go into business for herself as a freelance writer and editor. Ms. Connell has faced the quality childcare dilemma from before the arrival of her first child, both as a parent employed outside of the home and as a work-at-home mother. She has made the cost/benefit analysis, has experienced the search for a good provider, and terminated several caregiver arrangements. As a result, she has a great interest in helping other parents navigate the uncertainties connected with such an important family decision. Ms. Connell lives with her family in the Chicago area.
