Troia and the Troad Scientific Approaches

Gunther A. Wagner directs the Research Group of Archaeometry, Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften, situated at the Max-Planck-Institut fur Kernphysik, and is professor for Geology at the Universitat Heidelberg. He has authored/coauthored numerous scientific articles and books and teaches regularly courses in archaeometry. He is president of the Archaeometric Society in Germany Ernst Pernicka studied chemistry at the Universitat Wien in Austria. He has been engaged in science-based archaeology since completing his Ph.D. thesis. From 1979 to 1997, he was senior scientist at the Max-Planck-Institut fur Kernphysik in Heidelberg and since 1997 he has held the chair for archaeometallurgy at the Technische Universitat Bergakademie Freiberg. There he teaches archaeometry in a regular curriculum Hans-Peter Uerpmann studied veterinary medicine and prehistoric archaeology.
