Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance U.S., 1999

The Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) monitors 6 categories of priority health-risk behaviors among youth & young adults -- behaviors that contribute to unintentional & intentional injuries; tobacco use; alcohol & other drug use; sexual behaviors that contribute to unintended pregnancy & sexually transmitted diseases (incl. HIV infection); unhealthy dietary behaviors; & physical inactivity. The YRBSS includes a nat. school-based survey as well as state, territorial, & local school-based surveys.
