As a girl, Barbara Lehman lived very close to a train station. Along with the other kids in her neighborhood, she loved to race outside and count the cars on the freight and passenger trains when they went by. She also liked to read the names on freight cars and wave to conductors--if she was lucky, they would blow the train whistles for her! She later worked for the NYC Transit Authority, making books about using the subways to get to school. She never lost her interest in trains, especially in the special places they might go, including to her home in Philmont, New York.Other books by Barbara Lehman are "Rainstorm", "Museum Trip", and "The Red Book".Lehman, Barbara is the author of 'Trainstop', published 2008 under ISBN 9780618756407 and ISBN 061875640X.
