Cody was born September 17, 2001, six days after our nation suffered the tragedy of 9/11. He entered a world of uncertainty and fear, but no one knew at the time what challenges he would face in his personal journey through life. Cody was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and communication disorder in the fall of 2005. Throughout the course of denial, acceptance and finally determination to unite our two worlds, his unconditional love and unquestionable innocence inspired us and taught us the true meaning of learning to live one day at a time. Understanding and learning to cope with Cody’s disability has led to the journey of a lifetime.
