Ron and Velma’s story is one of tragedy, pain and perseverance. Velma had watched her husband Ron fall into a major depression eventually landing him back into drugs and alcohol. Through prayer Velma was able to create a change and with determination fought to bring her husband home. After Velma had fallen into a depression herself and left home to tend to her mom, she left behind a prayer box. Ron, realizing his wife had left, sat on the side of the bed and looked down at the box. When he opened it and pulled out one of the slips of paper, it read, Dear Lord, my husband is a smart, wise, and caring man, please bring him home safely.” There were hundreds of pieces of paper, each prayer asking God to save her husband’s life. It was at that moment that God began to work a miracle in Ron’s life.
