Dave Romeo was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up on Long Island. In 1984, he established a Guinness World Record for the most fish caught in a season by catching 3,001 largemouth bass in 77 days of fishing. This achievement became a pivotal point in his life as it opened up a floodgate of opportunities. Among these opportunities were Dave’s first two books entitled, "Better Bass Fishing—The Dave Romeo Way" (Sterling Publishing, 1987) and "Dave Romeo’s Long Island Freshwater Fishing Guide" (Dave Romeo Publishing, 1990). Dave designed a series of bass fishing lures for Panther Martin Lures and starred in a full-length instructional bass fishing video. For ten years, he ran Dave Romeo Bass Tournaments. Eventually, he decided to use what he learned from fishing and from running his own business to aid other business people. In 1990, Dave moved to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where he married Kim Trout, a Lancaster County native. He fell in love with Kim and the Lancaster culture simultaneously. The couple now resides in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. In 1992, Dave became a staffing recruiter for the printing industry. In 1998, he became an owner at Primary Staffing Services in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He heads up the Primary Seminars & Coaching by Dave Romeo division, serving as a personal-results coach and an international motivational speaker primarily in the areas of sales, leadership and personal growth. Some of his greatest influences are John Maxwell, Ken Blanchard, Dale Carnegie, Harvey Mackay, Lance Secretan, Tom Peters, and Anthony Robbins. Dave has read virtually every book written by these authors. Their influence can be felt in this book. In 2000, he published his landmark book, Nice Guys Finish First! – How to Be a Winner Without Losing Your Integrity (Primary Publishing, 2000) establishing him as a powerful storyteller with a gift for inspiring readers. In 2003, Dave published Designing Your Destiny – 22 Steps to a Compelling Future (iUniverse Publishing, 2003), which has become a field-manual for people to who wish to improve their lives.
