Mr. Zhang Lin is a Chinese democracy activist and writer. Over the past twenty years, he has suffered greatly working to realize his dream of a democratic China. The Chinese Communist Party jailed him three times, imprisoning him for a total of eight years. Although his life has been at risk and his family has been broken up, Zhang has persisted in his cause. On January 29, 2005, on his way to mourn Zhao Ziyang, Chinese authorities arrested him and jailed him on fabricated charges. He remains in prison.
