SUMMARY
John Russell Brown founded the Department of Drama and Theatre Arts at the University of Birmingham. He has also been a Fellow of the Shakespeare Institute and taught at the Universities of Sussex, Michigan and Columbia. For fifteen years he was an associate director of the Royal National Theatre in London and, subsequently, artistic director of Highlight and Project Theatres in the USA.
