AUTHOR

SUMMARY

Rick Steves is on a mission: to help make European travel accessible and meaningful for Americans. Rick has spent 100 days every year since 1973 exploring Europe. He's researched and written 24 travel guidebooks, and he writes and hosts the public-television series Rick Steves Europe, now in its seventh season. With the help of his hardworking staff of 60 at Europe through the Back Door, Rick organizes and leads tours of Europe and offers an information-packed Web site (www.ricksteves.com). Rick, his wife (and favorite travel partner) Anne, and their two teenage children, Andy and Jackie, call Edmonds, just north of Seattle, home. Gene Openshaw met Rick in the seventh grade, and they traveled through Europe together after high school. Gene, a Stanford graduate, has co-authored several books with Rick since they self-published their first book together, Europe 101, in 1984. Specializing in art and history, Gene writes the walking tours and museum tours for the city guidebooks. Also a composer, Gene wrote and produced an opera entitled Matter. He lives near Edmonds with his wife and daughter.Steves, Rick is the author of 'Rick Steves' Venice 2004' with ISBN 9781566915373 and ISBN 1566915376.
