Review of the Federal Bureau of Prisons' Disciplinary System

Assesses the Federal Bureau of Prisons' (BoP) disciplinary system. Reviews whether BoP employees properly reported misconduct; whether investigations were thorough; & whether disciplinary actions were reasonable, consistent, & timely. Data was examined for BoP employee misconduct cases opened or closed in FY 2003, reviewed files related to a sample of 85 randomly selected misconduct cases, interviewed BoP officials, & visited selected institutions.
