Model for Generation and Processing of Link State Information in SAAM Architecture

This thesis presents a model of link state advertisement generation for the SAAM (Server and Agent Based Network Management) architecture. The model includes generation and processing of link state data. In a SAAM network, a central server manages a region of 20-40 lightweight routers. The server learns the link performance of the routers from processing Link State Advertisement messages that are periodically sent by the routers. The server uses the information to maintain a Path Information Base to manage routing within the region.
