Mental Health and Mass Violence Evidence-Based Early Psychological Intervention for Victims/Survivors of Mass Violence

Proceedings of a Workshop to Reach Consensus on Best Practices, sponsored by HHS, DoD, VA), DoJ, & the Amer. Red Cross. At this workshop, 58 mental health experts from 6 countries were invited to address the impact of early psychological interventions & to identify what works, what doesn't work, & what the gaps are in our knowledge. Here an early intervention is defined as any form of psychological intervention delivered within the first 4 weeks following mass violence or disasters. Once established, services may remain in place for the long term.
