Libbie begins writing her journal in the year of 1856. It’s the story of a girl coming of age while living in the Ozark Mountains. Even at the age of twelve, Libbie loves Aaron and believes they will marry when they’re older. She’s a dreamer, but also a writer. By the time she’s a teenager, war clouds are rumbling.
