Since the seventh edition of this standard professional text was published in 1985, AACR2 Revised (AACR2R) has been implemented; new editions of or supplements to LCSH, LC Classification, DDC, and Sears have appeared; OCLC has adopted the PRISM format; and networking and online catalogs have become a way of life. Taylor addresses these changes in many chapters, such as "Cataloging in Context" and "Subject Arrangement of Library Materials".
