Interplanetary Police Force: The Threat of Banutor

The book begins with a pirate ship being captured by a warship of the Interplanetary Police Force (IPF). A mysterious probe appears from an unknown galaxy, with warnings of an invasion. A multi-dimensional being, knowing of the attack, allies with the IPF. Can the IPF survive the onslaught of the pirates, & still handle other interplanetary diputes, or will both the IPF & pirates fall to the mysterious invading force?
