Born in Dharwad, in the state of Karnataka, India, Asha holds a diploma in textile design. She worked for many years as an art teacher in private schools in Mumbai, and taught courses for adults and children in the fields of art and education. She has worked as a volunteer with special needs children, has trained street children to make commercially viable items, and has been a resource consultant for NGOs in the fields of informal education, arts and hobby classes and personality development.
