Genesis: Critically and Exegetically Expounded

August Dillmann (1823Ð94) was born at Illingen, Wÿrttemberg, and educated at the University of Tÿbingen, where he was a student of Heinrich Ewald. He produced catalogs of Ethiopic manuscripts, an edition of the Bible in Ethiopic, the Ethiopic edition of 1 Enoch (1851), Lexicon lingu¾ aethiopic¾ (1865), and Chrestomathia aethiopica (1866). He taught at the universities of Tÿbingen, Kiel, Giessen, and Berlin.
