A Korean national, Ju Brown received her undergraduate degree in Chinese Literature and Language from the prestigious Korea University in Seoul and received her master's from National Taiwan University with an emphasis in Chinese Drama and Theater of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. She later became the first foreign national to receive a doctorate from China's Sun Yat-sen University. Working for Intel in Hong Kong, she was able to travel extensively throughout Asia. Having grown up in the Southwest, her American-born husband, John, became interested in East Asian studies in college, where he received a degree in History with an emphasis in East Asia from the University of Arizona. He has spent the greater part of his professional life in aviation. With a common interest, he assisted his wife in content, structure and editing of this book.
