This publication accompanies the exhibition Beyond Heritage presented at the Riverside Art Museum October 21?December 3, 2006 and the Millard Sheets Gallery November 2?December 16, 2006. The exhibit is curated by Andi Campognone, Exhibition Curator at the Riverside Art Museum.Beyond Heritage features more than eighty works of art in a variety of media by twenty-two Latino artists who live and/or work in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. The exhibit highlights the fact that many artists of Latino descent define themselves as artists by creating work that speaks from their heritage, but not exclusively about their heritage.
