In the mid-1990s, New York architect and educator Evan Douglis was appointed curator of the architecture galleries at Columbia University. His exhibition designs--presenting historic and present-day architects (Mies van der Rohe, Eileen Gray, Jean Prouve, Gaetano Pesce, Alvaro Siza) as well as thematic groupings--continually challenge accepted curatorial boundaries.
