Adolescent Family Life Demonstration Program : Project Summaries

The Adolescent Family Life Demonstration Program (AFLDP) was enacted in 1981. The FY Ô98 budget provided funding for 4 areas: (1) care demonstration projects, which serve pregnant adolescents, adolescent parents, their infants, partners & families; (2) prevention & abstinence demonstration projects, which serve pre-adolescents & adolescents & their families; (3) joint prevention & care demonstration projects, & (4) research projects. These programs address educ., career planning, job training, safe housing, decision-making & social skills, as well as the med. & health educ. services traditionally associated with pregnancy prevention & pregnancy management.
