This book is an introduction to sociology and to using the sociological imagination. It provided a very insightful and informative introduction to the field, and covered the topics in a way that maintained my interest throughout the book.

While I have only read one other book on the field of sociology, I much preferred this one. It kept the subject matter interesting enough to maintain my interest throughout.

Very intuitive and a very great introduction to sociology and understanding social problems within society through qualitative research.

This is very complex in nature and covering in depth areas of history rather than a breadth of all that has happened.

The constructs of social norms blew me away. Everything is the way it is because society deemed that it should be. Wow!

Practice questions would have been beneficial in this book.

This book was very dry. A lot of the chapters were repetitive and made things seem more complicated than they really are.

Condense it. Make it a little less repetitive and simplify some of the more "common knowledge" topics.

The vocabulary in the book Also the book give example and better understanding for the term sociology.

I learned more about what goes on inside your head of different people.

This book was set up nicely and it was really clear when reading. It is not hard to understand what sociologists do and they way they think after reading this book.

I think this chapters went on for too long. Some of the chapters could have been condensed. It is just a lot of information in chapters. Some of the information was irrelevant.

The most useful thing I learned from this book would be the way the author, Dalton Conley, wrote the book and made it easy to understand the concepts. The blog that also went along with this book helped you follow along and understand the concepts by taking quizzes or doing activities.

The class I used this book in was Introduction to Sociology. The class was discussion based- the readings were done on our own and were also accompanied by two other books; Consequential Strangers and The Norton Mix. We would have discussions based on the previous readings we were assigned to read and only had a midterm and final. We discussed topics ranging from race, to gender to inequality.

My course was entitled "Introduction to Sociology". In this course, we discussed many different aspects of culture, relationships, race, sexuality, media, and gender.

There was a lot of extra discussion and rambling between points which muddled the concepts I needed to learn and made reading the chapters a lot longer and more frustrating.

The definitions to sociological terms were expressed in a way that was understandable and able to reuse in class.

I found the book helpful in class, it had all the material I needed.

It was all very good. Another book I needed for class. this was a very thorough book. it was helpful for writing my sociology paper.

I learned soo much it's hard to pinpoint one thing. It covers race, religion, family, all very interesting topics.

I wouldn't any of it wasn't helpful. Any information on the subject you are subjecting should be helpful.

The class was an online class and it required reading every bit of this book along with quizzes for each chapter and test for every unit.
