This book is great for the courseIt's alright. I really didn't find as interesting. But definitely if you need the book for class. Buy it used..you barely need it. Just remember to read every chapter of the book.

I liked the different stories from people that were at the end of each chapter.

This book is a easy read. The articles make learning the different topics easier.

I was a great book, with many informative and interesting readings. I would recommend this book to others. I was happy that this was the book we used for Sociology- introduction to womens studies.

The readings at the end of each chapter were the most helpful to me and my studies. They helped me understand the information in the chapters better.

So... I kinda hate this book. I am young male and thought I'd give this book a shot for an easy read but I cannot finish it

Feminism is written in sound bytes, each chapter being comprised of smaller (usually) page-long explanations of a given issue.

it was a great book! I really enjoyed all of the stories. it was very well written.

i would love more anecdotes about recent times, somethings have changed while others havent. also more international stories.

The side articles after each chapter helped to examine how society played a part. Some of the essays were very eye-opening and inspiring.

I learned just what it meant to be feminist. I saw the negative and the positive components for being, and what being one means in our society. Either in today's world or in yesterday's. I also learned more about gender studies. Not just women, but other gender roles in our world today.

The overal content of the book was not of my interesting. The long chapters made it hard to understand material.

This book taught me a lot about how society views women now as well as how they had been viewed in the past.

I love this book, and actually read the entire thing the summer after I took the class, because we did not make it all the way through in my Introduction to Women's Studies class. I learned a lot, and it's a great book for an introduction to global issues of women and feminist issues.

This was required for Introduction to Women's Studies, in which we gained a broad yet shallow perspective of women's issues and feminist issues that served as an entry into other more focused classes.

I learned a lot from this book. As a guy taking a women's studies class, it was an "interesting" experience to say the least. The book has a lot of essays written by feminists. It gives you a good perspective on the adversity women must overcome on a daily basis. There wasn't one thing in particular that stuck out in my mind, but in general there are a lot of good essays in this book.

Some of the essays needed to be read a couple of times in order for you to get the message. Most are simple to read and straight to the point. Others are rather lengthy and used somewhat difficult language for someone that isn't the best reader. Other then that it was a well organized book and the index makes it really easy to find a specific essay.

The bulk of the text was frustrating as it seemed that opinion was stated as fact.

The essay features were interesting because they were written by authors with differing viewpoints.
