I am not a math person. I am terrible at it. The examples in this book were amazing. They helped me with almost everything that I was having trouble with. I loved it!read more
A lot more examples! There were one or two for each problem but having a few more with different variables would be awesome.
Teaches very basic math for beginners and is an intro book.read more
Some of the scenarios are strange and difficult to understand.
I found the Logic portion of the text to be the most useful and informative. Since I used this textbook in my Liberal Arts Math course, the logic made a lot of sense and I learned a lot from it. The way the author worded the chapters and problems was easy to understand and felt more appropriate for my career field.read more
I have not read any other books linked to Liberal Arts Math. But, if I compared to math textbooks in general, I would have to say that I enjoyed it much more. It was easy to grasp and I was interested throughout the text.
I'm not good with math problems but this book provide a lot of examples and put things in words to help me understand how to do them. There are many areas of basic math that I have not been able to understand before but this book wrote it out for me and made it easy to put into practice. So I became better prepared for homework and tests from the way this book was filled with the information I needed personally.read more
I would have more examples in the book. There are a lot but I think it could have used even more. It was very good at what it though!
Some of the examples were lengthy and hard to understand but after asking a professor for help it was easierread more
Mathematics is the primary subject of this book and it was very effective throughout the chapters. I learned a lot from it
I used it for contemporary mathematics. We only used it for homework but the material is easy enough to learn without having class notes. It actually has information that you will use later on in life. If you skip around in the book you will still be able to learn because the material does not go in order. The answers for all chapter tests, and odd answers are found for each chapter in the back.read more

It gives you layouts on each problem. It throughly explains how to do problems step by step.read more
Math. Specifically algebra two. This book is very effective because it also has alot of practice problems.
Class was called Survey of Mathematics, and is listed as a 3 credit hour class, the concept is to learn basic college level mathematics.read more
Math, is the primary subject of the book. To me this text was somewhat confusing in its treatment of the subject matter, there were several sections that were covered that were more historical in context than actual useful learning for practical math.
I found that the My Math Lab was the only thing necessary for the course, we didnt use the textbook often. It helped to clarify when I was confused thoughread more
College Math 2, it was ok, but it was a bit of a potpourri class
Overall is a very good book, however some of the examples are not explained with much detail and some just give you the answer without telling you how to get there. Compare to other books on the subject I have read the differences are not many, they all cover the basic subjects of math.read more
The more interesting thing I learned from this book is about the social personality development. There was a lot of stuff that I learned about myself and it helped me understand a little bit better on why I act the way I do. Also it helped me modify things about myself to become a better person for my future children.
1 or 2 more examples of problems. I found it challenging to understand some concepts that were complex and unfortunately I only found about one example of the problem being solved. When I faced my final it was a little disapointing with one of the questions.read more
Other than more examples...nothing! As I said, the lack of the examples is what made the textbook hard to understand. I liked reading the book though, it was very interesting!
Was very helpful in learning the math concepts it highlights. Was very useful. I really struggled with math before reading this book. The hard cover aspect was also nice for safe transport.read more
This book was great, there isn't too much that I would change.
