The main idea of this textbook was to provide examples of essays and articles that display good use of theories and methods taught in most college English classes. This edition had an excellent selection of readings that I actually found fascinating.

It was very interesting to me the opinions of some of the authors who have pieces in this textbook. It taught me to open my eyes to other viewpoints.

Nothing. The book did it's job well. The writings are very engaging and entertaining. I just simply do not need the book anymore.

It is a book of example writings. It was very effective. Good stories.

The part of the book least helpful was questions asked after each writing piece.

Learning about of the variety of different aspects to psychology was very interesting because it improved my knowledge on the subject.

( I thought I was reviewing this book in my last review. Apperently is was the spanish dic. instead. oops!) I loved this book. It was interesting and kept my attention.

I learned how to write. I have never been good at putting things down on paper. I can think them but I have trouble writing it all down and it making sense. This helped me a lot. There were many examples and essays that helped me.

There are a bunch of short pieces about various issues throughout history. It also helps give you the tools to become a successful writer.

I was required to use this book for English 101 and we often looked to the text for readings as well as writing exercises.

The only thing I would change is maybe a bit more of literary analysis to focus on the point of the book, but it did provide the reader with the opportunity to do this on their own.

It was a collection of many very interesting stories, I loved almost all of them and along with learning different kinds of writing styles I learned tons of different information from the stories.

This book is amazing it includes the greatest essays i have ever read. For people who like to analize and enjoy reading short essays this is great; the different type of topics is very wide and the opinions from one writer to the other have a huge gap, which offers a variety of points of view

I used this book for Human Development, and the class was amazing! Love the book it was very informative and I did well in the class so all is good.

Different types of literature, and how they may relate or may contradict eachother.

Nothing in this book was useless. It provides the right amount of author information, story backround, and conversations about the text.

This book helped me in the process of writing essays and writing about each different short story.

This book was a very good source for education. It gave good meanings and illustrations on each subject.

If i could change one thing about the book, I would take out the most boring story in it.

The most useful thing I learned from this book was how to write a expository essay.
