Regina Hernandez grew up in Southern California. First and foremost a tomboy, she still enjoys nature and the great out-doors; her love for animals is immense. She constantly looks for ways to help God?s small creatures, frequently bringing home strays and nursing them back to health when necessary. In fact, Jake the Beagle, the real-life main character in Jake The Beagle?s Crazy Adventures, was rescued from a Beagle Shelter! As a child, her second love was writing. She began to hone this skill in grade school, earning both the The Teachers? Recognition for Short Stories and Poetry Award and the Excellence in Writing Skills Award. Regina?s family as well as her teachers encouraged her pursuit of this talent. Regina grew up, became an entrepreneur, got married and had two children, Mark and Stephen. Still compelled to write, she published articles in trade magazines. Clients called with compliments on her writing style and clarity. Her business thrived, partially because of her strong ability to communicate clearly and to captivate her audience with up-to-the minute information on timely issues. When the family moved from Huntington Beach, California, to a small community near Nell, Texas, she began to fulfill her long-time ambition of writing children?s books.
