Summary: Helene Lefebvre-Brion: In 1953 she entered the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and obtained her Doctorates-Sciences in 1958. Over a seventeen-year period, she taught a course for graduate students. For ten years (1969-1979) she organized meetings of the "Groupe d'Etudes de Spectroscopie Electronique Moleculaire" (GESEM), that brought together all of the French spectroscopists. Field: After completing his Ph.D. at Harvard University and postdoc in the Quantum Institute of the University of California at Santa Barbara, he moved to MIT in 1974 where he is now the Haslam and Dewey Professor of Chemistry.
