Ted Williams was the last man to bat .400 in major league baseball, was the winner of the American League batting championship six times and, in 1966, was named to the Baseball Hall of Fame. With John Underwood, he coauthored Fishing the Big Three and his autobiography, My Turn at Bat. He died in July 2002. John Underwood was a senior writer at Sports Illustrated and has written eight other books, including Manning, The Death of an American Game and Spoiled Sport.
