I would suggest to make the book a little shorter or it gets boring.read more
To me this book goes into a lot more detail than is necesarrily needed.
This book was required for a public speaking class that I took. We were required to present four speeches throughout the semester and this book was a helpful guide.read more
The most interesting thing was the helpful encouragement. Many of us students in the course were very anxious giving 7 minute speeches to the class. This book provided many ways to help us channel the nervous energy and helped us succeed.
Very Helpful and great on the specifics of all speeches. could help most strait laced follow the rules people best if that isn't you find something simpler.read more
better than anything else out there, and high school speech classes would do better if they had this.
The most interesting thing that I learned was the many different, and simple, ways to calm yourself down while speaking publically. I get nervous easily when speaking in public so this was very useful for me.read more
This has been the only book I have studied on this subject but I did learn a lot from it. After reading this, I do not feel like I am missing out on any of the basic techniques of public speaking.
The book is more stylized and it offers alot of information to those students who are not used to speaking in public. This book allows you to access all of your inner fears and all of your inner problems that would and should allow you to become a better speak. When I took this class I knew that this book and the professor would help me out alot.read more
The most interesting thing about this book is the first and 3rd chapter.
This text book helped me to better understand the relationship between the speaker and the audience. By increasing my understanding of this unique relationship I was able to better form a compelling and effective statement as regarded my issues.read more
This book would be improved by including a more diversified approch to audience and debating platforms.
i would change the size. Its not too thick but it is pretty wide.read more
The information in the book went right with the course material from our class.
The primary subject of this book was public speaking focusing on the audience. I think it did good job covering this subject, it helped me to focus my speaking on who would be listen to me speak, rather than just of my own needs and wants in a speech. It got a little off topic when talking about special occasion speaking, but other than that I believe it tackled the the topic very well. For the price i paid for the book and how much it was used in class it was definitely worth the price paid for it.read more
The book was much easier to understand than other books i was required to read on the subject. I felt like the terms were not way over my head and i could easily comprehend and follow along with the book. It was very useful when i had to write a paper for the class too.
This book helped me understand the course more clearly with its clear wording and examples. It has a lot of words, but it is an easy read and is very easy to understand.read more
I think there should be a bit less words since it seems very repetitive.

I like how I learned that developing a strong thesis statement can determine the success you have on grasping the audience's attention.
