Summary: This monograph by the SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology & End Results) Program of the Nat. Cancer Inst. resulted from the work of the 11 SEER registries & the SEER staff. Since prostate cancer was the number one incident cancer & the number two cause of cancer deaths among U.S. men 1973-1995, the data are important for researchers, clinicians, policy makers & citizens in understanding this disease.
