To learn more about stats. And physics as well. The books were alright, I suppose.

Stats, and physics stuff. It's not easy, but this book made it more duable.

The content in the book was to the point and easy to follow. I saw nothing negative derived from the text. Although, the cd set was slightly confusing.

The cds were a huge help along with the different exercises that went with the songs. I also enjoyed getting to know the different composers after reading about their different masterpieces.

I would not change anything about this book to make it better because its already a good book. And the book came to me in a great shape and also it is very easy to understand.

I still wouldn't change nothing about the book. For one it is very easy to understand and it is simple to go along with.

If I could change one thing about this book, it would be to go into more detail on how to write music.

The history of music was the primary subject, it was pretty effective.

I learned that the history of music can be something that is enjoyable to learn. I learned about the elements of music and their significance of knowing them while listening to music. The book was very informative and interesting. It was a pleasure to read.

Majority of it involved active listening. We also enjoyed performances by the professor himself, which was a great trumpet player.

The book is separated into too many sections, if certain chapters were combined it would make it a bit easier to follow the historical flow of music.

Combining chapters and putting content into more logical sections based on time period.

Besides answers to the in-class extra credit questions. This book included music outlines that were very helpful and instructive for me learning how to write such. It also informed me in how to *listen* to music.

The book was a textbook for an Intro to Music class. The purpose of the class was to enhance listening enjoyment and ability. Also to educate students in characteristic styles of major historical periods, as well as on the lives and works of key composers within the Western musical tradition.
