This book covers microbiology and was used in a microbiology class for science majors that did not need to be as heavily submerged in the details of microbiology. The book has some great, easy to follow diagrams.

The index could be improved and chapters could do a better job of highlighting and presenting an overview of basic concepts.

Figures from this book helped to understand material from the chapters. Also practice problems were very helpful for the same thing. I learned about a very broad array of topics from this book that are helpful for more advanced micro and biology courses.

It goes over a lot of topics in a broad sense. This makes understanding each individual topic easier and much simpler to read and comprehend. Overall this book is a good introductory book for microbiology.

Food preservation was a very interesting topic covered in this book.

The text went over many different areas of pathology. I think having a good understanding of pathology is important to all medical professionals. And it certainly is a nice precursor to any other courses I will be required to take pertaining to pathology.

I learned a lot from this textbook, mostly about the cells. I also learned about how the body works and what body system does what. Another thing I learned about is the diseases of the human body. Microbiology is an interesting subject to learn about and its simple if you put your mind to it.

The most interesting thing that I learn from the book is the topic on diseases. It was very interesting of learning what diseases are mild and what are dangerous. Also I enjoyed learning about the symptoms and the cures. Diseases can vary and can happened to anyone so it was cool to be inform about them.

the pictures weren't as discriptive as it could have been which made the info alittle confusing

the information in general was very helpful because it related to what was being thought in school

The tables at the end of eacch chapter subtopic, foe example are discussing The various Hepatitis viruses (A-E) it had a table with side by side comparisons. The tables make for great review cards

I not only learned about the various viruses and bateria, their signs, symtoms and characteristics but also about their history around the word and known cures/treatments. This was a great book for a healthcare professionals course.
