For a book so big and expensive(brand new) I had higher expectations for the paper used in this book, it's as thin as tissue paper. That being said the book covers everything from short stories, poetry and plays. The material used is the classics and you and expect everything from Oedipus to The Yellow Wallpaper. I also liked how it had some sections with critical reviews that I was able to use as sources for my research papers.read more
The format and the writing are easy to understand and follow. It does a great job of covering all the classics one should know.
All of it was pretty reasonable. The short stories and poems are pretty interesting although some of them are longer the all helped out a lot. The plays are interesting but sometimes can be an hassle to read. Hard to understand sometimes.read more
the size it is very inconvenient. As a college student carrying books are pretty normal but the size of the book could be slimmer.
The only thing i would change is an addition to some of the story's and poetry that helps you to breakdown and understand what you just read. I found myself often doing some research on the computer to find literal meanings especially once i was in the poetry section.read more
This book prepared me for one of our bigger assignments which was Hamlet. If it was not for this book i would have been entirely lost in the complexities Shakespeare created.
