I found the scenarios present in the text extremely helpful. This book was used in a beginning leadership class early on in the nursing curriculum. The scenarios were great for someone who has little experience being a professional leader.
The Learner's guide was a very helpful tool in this book.it showed you how to navigate through the whole book with ease. At the beginning of each chapter were helpful items of interest that highlighted material that would be covered along with the terms that you needed to know.read more
My life long goal was to become a Registered Nurse. This book helped me gain the knowledge of the leadership and management aspects of Nursing. There is so much material in this book that I found interesting but one area really stood out to me and that is the caring, communicating and managing with technology chapter. It gave me perspective in the career that I chose. Even discussing future trends which I found very helpful.

I learned great managing skills from it. It also went through conflict resolution and how to address it in the work environment. I also enjoyed the sections on how to motivate people. It would be great for any manager! (These were my favorite sections but there was a ton of useful information in this book!)
