"For any true micro-spectochemical analysis a microscope and a dispering instrument are needed. However in 1960 the invention of the solid state laser by Maiman made psossible a new instrument asssemby, essentially consisting of a ruby laser and a reserch microscope. The authors took charge of and teseted the model LMA, the first micro-spectrum analyser by VEB Carl Zeiss, Jena, which at the 1965 Leipzig Spring Fair won a gold medal for outstsanding quality. This book contains a comprehensive report of their experience.[less]
