Summary: Why are we here? How are we supposed to live? Yet, with all this progress we still ask the most basic of questions. Jordan’s Quest concerns the title character’s lifelong search for answers. His quest leads him to Young Andrew, an ancient, mysterious man... living in dismal poverty. Young Andrew weaves a tale about his tragic family history and the decision that divided it forever. Jordan finds the story interesting at first, but irrelevant. Then, each unfolding chapter takes on greater significance. Gradually, he realizes the answers to his questions lie within the old man’s story – but they are not the answers he expected. Jordan’s Quest is also a story about us. It reveals how our relationships – to other humans, to all other life and to the earth itself – have been pre-determined by an event that occurred 10,000 years ago.
