After college, technical school and an obligatory military service he entered a Catholic monastery in France to become a Catholic monk. In 1966 he emigrated to Canada. That same year he left the Catholic Monastery in Montreal but not the Catholic Church. Years later Gustav moved to Vancouver B.C. In 1976 he married and fathered a girl the following year. Working for many years with a disabled child made him a self-taught expert in child development. Work which was very successful.
