He served his community as a City Commissioner and later as Chairman of the Board of Archbold Medical Center. His first two books, In Search of the Aucilla, and Fishing for the Abundant Life were published in 2002 and 2003. He is married to the former Virginia French, and they are the proud parents of three boys and two girls and grandparents of eight.
