Phillip Carson is Head of Science Support Services at Unilever Research Laboratory, Port Sunlight. He is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers' Loss Prevention Panel, and a past member of the Chemical Industries Association Health Advisory Group and past chairman of their Hygiene Working Group. He is a visiting lecturer in Chemistry at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK, and co-author of many papers on safety. He is also a member of the British Association of Research Quality Assurance and Editor of Good Laboratory and Clinical Practice Clive Mumford is a Consultant in chemical engineering safety and loss prevention, and has practised as a forensic engineer in chemistry/chemical engineering related cases and acted as an expert witness for over thirty years.
