His assignments included being a contingency and war-planning officer for the military air command from 1983-1986 during which he served on the battle staff for the Grenada and Panama invasions. Since leaving the air force in 1992, he has been a junior high-school teacher. He is also the author of Victory in the East: The Rise and Fall of the Imperial German Army.
